The atmosphere is relaxed, as most performers stumble on stage in an adorably tipsy state, breaking down into giggles each time the familiar wolf noises echo around them. Few stick to their set, in a refreshing break from the norm of late shows being treated as little more than a showcase; FullMooners feels more like a not-very-exclusive party with the cool kids providing the laughs. Maxwell’s immense reputation ensures that high profile comedians are promised for the Fringe run. This show had Jim Jeffries, Ava Vidal and the fabulous Jason Byrne, interspersed with impressive breakdancing: a truly modern variety show.
It‘s hard to pinpoint what makes this stand out so much from the others. Edinburgh is drenched with high quality post-midnight entertainment and yet Maxwell has managed to create a unique buzz.
