FRED
TOMASELLI
Birdwatching, Greater star-gazing, pill- Pewee popping
Brooklyn-based Tomaselli’s art work floats on ‘ the walls of the Fruitmarket. Intricate, fantastical pictures conjure darkly magical worlds from pills, petals, plasters and paint. This is a specially commissioned work (Greater Pewee, Olive Sided Flycatcher; Eastern Wood Pewee, Western Wood Pewee, 2004) of which there are 100 limited edition prints. To be reviewed next issue.
I The Fruitmarkel, Market Street, 225 2383, until Sun 3 7 Oct, 10am—7pm, free.

Edinburgh-based graffiti artist ELPH knows this city better than most (having sc0ured its hidden spaces since the age of 12). His show Banjo Whackin' Funk opens at the Bongo Club and here he turns his nozzle to a few things that are
getting him going and away from the free booze.
Last year I saw some great films, so thés year I'm going to see Tokyo
Godfathers. as I really like anime movies and they are amazing on the big screen. Also Hero too. cos everyone is talking about it. and it's a kicking, sort of
fly-abouty sword film with subtitles.
Hopefully I'll get some more sushi from the Garage Theatre — I got some last year. It's really cheap and tastes bonus. I recommend it. And Mark Thomas.
