Johnny Vegas exhibits ceramics, Allan Miller shows photographs and Reg Anderson displays a selection of props.

The Art Of Documentary Until Sun 3 Sep. A look at Scottish involvement with documentary photography over the last 40 years including work by Chick Chalmers, John Charity, Catriona Grant, Tricia Malley, Oscar Marzaroli, Andy Moxon, Joe Rock, Jeremy Sutton-Hibbert and David Williams.

Men Of The Clyde: Stanley Spencer's Vision At Port Glasgow (1940-1947) Until Sun 1 Oct. A major exhibition of work by the painter Sir Stanley Spencer (1891—1959). As Oflicial War Artist, Spencer arrived in Port Glasgow in 1940, commissioned to produce a series of paintings of the shipyard workers at Lithgow’s Yard. He spent the next six years completing the commission, resulting in a series of monumental, frieze-like paintings which capture the labours of the workforce. Showing alongside these works are Spencer’s ‘Resurrection’ paintings, created at the end of the war, his personal tribute to the people of Glasgow.

Mounted 2 Until Thu 31 Aug. The Mounted Gallery moves to a temporary location during the Festival with an exhibition of mixed media artworks by over twenty artists. The Private Klee: Works By Paul Klee From The Burgi Collection Until Sun 22 Oct. £4 (£3); joint with Dali (£6) (£450). The only British showing of this outstanding collection of work by Swiss artist Paul Klee (1879—1940). One of the most innovative artists of the 20th century, his small-scale abstract watercolours will be shown along with over 130 oils, pen and ink, prints, gouaches and drawings, from all stages of his career. Consta le's Clouds Until Sun 29 Oct. £3.50 (£2). The work of John Constable (1776—1837) is celebrated in this comprehensive exhibition which brings together over 70 of his cloud studies and landscapes which reflect his interest in the sky.

A major exhibition tracing almost 1000 years of Scotland’s history through the written word, presenting some of the key documents that have shaped the Scottish nation.

Remix - David Cox Until Fri 8 Sep. David Cox creates unique sculptural constructions in his first exhibition in Scotland. Using tin, wood and found objects, Cox combines magic and modern myth with popular TV, hip hop, skyscrapers and subways. During the Festival, Cox will be leading a number of workshops in automata, mask and sound making for children and adults. Contact the gallery for details.

Sharon Kivland: Le Bonheur Des Femmes (The Scent Of A Woman) Until Sat 2 Sep. Portfolio’s Festival exhibition features the work of Sharon Kivland. Showing two new series of colour photographs, her work deals with the relationship between city and gender. Le Bonheur Des Femmes features photographs of women shopping at Paris perfume counters accompanied by text bearing the names of perfumes. ln Mes Peripateticiennes (My Streetwalkers), Kivland shows life-size photographs of women in Paris arcades.
