I Spectrum at Club Java. lOpm—Zam. £5 (£4). Weekly. Leith’s little haven of best beats is doing so well that it will be going weekly from now on. Not only do you get to enjoy a stylish bar and dancefioor, but the upstairs section can cater for every lounger’s needs, with copious quantities of couching and some cosy little booths. And there’s music too of course. The new regime sees Joseph Malik and Eh! Wun (12 Aug) rotating with Mr Todd (Higher Ground), Unkle Fawaz and friends (5 Aug) on a fortnightly basis, with a range of quality tunes from hip hop and drum & bass to reggae R&B and mellow house.

I Tease Age at The Citrus Club. 11pm—3am. £4. Weekly. lndie, with a touch of dance and funk, played to a packed and sweaty crowd. All you folks who go home sore of throat with stinking clothes will be pleased to know that The Citrus Club now boasts a non-smoking policy in the bar area.
I UberzbiskolAtomic Baby at Teviot Row House. 9pm—5am. £10 (£8 advance from The Fringe box office). 5 Aug only. The best in progressive house and trance tunes as the regular Atomic team of Michael Kilkie, Zammo, Stuart Duncan and Scott Brown is augmented by The Tunnel’s Colin Tevendale and the massive Dave Seaman, who is currently working on a new release for Global Underground. The General and MC Feelman will be getting up to some drum & bass tricks somewhere else in the building.

After the big name blow~out of the last instalment, which saw Allister Whitehead, Trevor Reilly and Sash (although not Sash-a) share a billing, expect something along the same lines. A huge serving of glam goings-on and camped- up cabaret, with regular PAs, drag dancers and top cheesy choons to shake your stuff to. DJ Granty Pants will be doing the honours on the decks.

Edinburgh’s foremost Sun clubbing experience takes over Teviot for the duration of the Festival, so you weekend hedonists don’t have to panic about your final fix. Fisher and Price will bang out their usual brand of up-front, hard house, with a guest slot from Gail Sellars of sister club Shebang.
