Short story competition
WATERSTON E’S BOOKSELLERS
As part of a season of events to promote creative writing in Scotland, Waterstone’s oi George Street is holding a major short story competition in collaboration with The list and Arvon’s new writing centre at Moniack Mhor near Inverness.
The winning entry will be published in part or in full in The List and the author will be sent on a 4% day residential course of his or her choice (subject to availability) at Anton. The judges are Catherine Lockerbie, literary editor of The Scotsman, Brian McCabe, author of The Lipstick Circus and The Other McCoy, and James Robertson, Browns Bank Writing Fellow 1993.
RULES OF ENTITY
The closing date for entries is 31 May 1993. The story should be no longer than 3000 words and should not have been published previously. Stories should be in typescript with double spacing on one side only of A4 paper with the author’s name clearly marked on each sheet and a full name and address should be submitted with each story.
The prize includes travel, accommodation, tuition and food costs. The winner will be notitied by post. The judges’ decision is final.
