I Ayr Ayr Racecourse. 2 Whitletts Road. Ayr. Club £10. Eglinton £6. First races 2pm. The culmination of the National Hunt season at Ayr sees the Scottish Grand National on the Saturday. After the debacle at Aintree. the focus shifts to Ayr and some of the top fancies for the Liverpool farce could be among the entries in an attempt to salvage something from their months of preparation. It's a testing race in its own right. but unlike the Liverpool race. the Scottish National is often won by a younger chaser with a turn of finishing speed.
